Haryana former minister Gopal Goyal Kanda on Sunday said that evidence unearthed by Delhi Police in the Geetika Sharma suicide case is one sided and claimed that he will soon bring the truth out through media.

Speaking to media persons while being taken for routine medical check-up at Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital, Kanda said: “Media is showing only one side of the story. I will bring the truth through your (media) medium.”

The 46-year-old, chairman and managing director of MDLR Group accused of hounding his employee Geetika to death has also claimed that he was being framed in the case. He insists that it is a political conspiracy hatched to tarnish his image.

“Some politicians are doing this to malign me. They are misguiding media. Truth will come out,” he said.

Ankita still abroad

Meanwhile, Ankita Singh, an MDLR Group employee whose name was also mentioned in Geetika’s two-page suicide note, did not join Delhi Police probe till late Sunday.

It came as a surprise as Ankita’s sister had earlier said that she would return from Singapore to face questions over the case.

In the suicide note, Geetika alleged that Ankita had an illicit relationship with Kanda and she had a girl child from him.

Sources have said that investigators have already prepared a questionnaire to grill Ankita to get information on her relation with Geetika and Kanda, her objections with Geetika and whether there was any pressure by Kanda on her too.

Initial probe has revealed that Ankita was working as ground staff in Delhi when the MDLR Airlines was launched. When Kanda bought two casinos in Goa -- Mint Club and the floating Casino Rio -- Ankita and other staff were sent there.

In 2009, Geetika had lodged a threatening and theft case against Ankita and Nupur Mehta in Panaji.

Threatened to kill

As per the charge sheet, the case was registered as ‘threatened to kill the complaint (Geetika) and her family member if she did not leave the job of Mint Casino Company’ and thereafter committed theft of complainant’s belongings.

Ankita was evidently flown to Singapore from Goa to evade investigation of the case. It has also come to light that Ankita had told Goa Police in 2009 that she was married to Kanda alias G V Goel and had a child by him. The police statement was in connection with the case lodged by Geetika.

A team of Delhi Police had recently visited Ankita’s residence in Goa to record her statement, but she was unavailable.

The team had also visited a shop run by Ankita's brother for further investigation, but they found the shop shut.

Presently, Delhi Police is conducting several raids at Kanda’s Gurgaon residence and MDLR Group offices to trace the mobile phones used by him for sending messages to Geetika and also her official phone that she returned in December last year. They are also look out for missing hard disks of the computers seized from MDLR Group offices and Kanda residences.
