Acting on Supreme Court's Orders, 

The UP Police Arrested Sahara India Group Boss Sahari Shri Subrata Roy on Friday. 

His Lawyer wanted the matter to be heard on Friday itself but the apex court declined the Application saying it was not possible to convene a special bench today. The court also Rejected Sahara Shri Subrata Roy's plea to recall the Arrest Warrant as a result of which he will remain in Judicial Custody till March 3 2014. 

Sahara Shri Subrata Roy case will be taken up on March 4 2014. Speaking on his behalf, Sahara Shri Subrata Roy's son  Master Seemanto Roy said his father Sahara Shri Subrata Roy's Decision to not Appear before the court has been Emotional but he "willfully surrendered today as he is law abiding Citizen.

The SC had ordered a Non-Bailable Warrant against Sahara Shri Subrata Roy on Wednesday for ignoring repeated court's Summons to be present in court to explain the case involving refund of INRs 21,000 crore to Sahara Investors. 

Sahara Shri Subrata Roy submitted that he was Emotionally and Mentally very attached to his 92 Years Old Mother  who has been guiding light in his life since he lost his father 40 Years ago.

Sahara India Chief Subrata Roy faces Arrest in Uttar Pradesh, the UP State Police said on Thursday, a day after the Supreme Court issued a Non-Bailable Arrest Warrant against him for failing to appear before it. The police have reached Sahara Shaher in Lucknow to Arrest him. Meanwhile, Roy had filed an application in the Supreme Court asking it to recall its Arrest Warrant against him. Roy had reportedly told the court that his 92 Years Old Mother was undergoing treatment at his Hospital in Lucknow. Subrato Roy faces arrest in the Sebi-Sahara case for failing to refund over Rs 20,000 crore to its investors. SEBI, the Capital Market regulator, had asked Sahara to refund the Poor Investors' Hard Earnd Money which it said was raised Illegally. Subrata Sahara, however, retorted that Sebi had no jurisdiction over it as it was not a listed company.

The Supreme Court dismissed Subrata Sahara's plea and asked it to pay the amount with interest. Roy repeatedly missed the court's deadlines to comply with its orders.
