A Woman  named after Amelia Earhart is Flying around the World, to recreate her namesake's famous Flight around the World.  On Thursday, Earhart departed from Oakland, California on the first leg of her 24,300 mile journey.

Amelia Rose Earhart is now the youngest Woman  to have traveled around the globe in a single-engine plane. The 31-year-old landed at Oakland International Airport on Friday afternoon, after Flying over 24,000 miles in 18 days.
 


Despite the last name, the young Pilot is not related to Amelia Mary Earhart, who disappeared in 1937 during her attempt to circle around the World.

Everyone has oceans to cross... Today, Amelia and I cross one together.
